Farm Forum is February 25th, 2016
Recently water quantity and quality have become a more common conversation among legislators, farmers, ranchers, community organizations and individuals. This past year several focus groups around the state got together to discuss the future Kansas Water Plan that is currently being developed. McPherson County relies on having good clean water in adequate quantity. However, many may not have the time or connections to stay current on what is happening on the water issue in Kansas.
This year at the McPherson Chamber of Commerce 2016 Farm Forum hosted by the Agriculture Committee, Tim Boese, Manager for the Equus Beds Ground water management district 2, will provide us information on the District’s formation, purpose, activities, groundwater resource management and water related issues. He will also review some of the possible regulatory changes that will/might be proposed for 2016. This is a great opportunity to become informed on an issue that is current and important to everyone in McPherson County.
In addition to the featured speaker, the Agriculture Committee will recognize Dave McMannis as Friend of Agriculture and Jim and Mim Nelson as Farm Family of the Year.
