Member Spotlight- Clutch the Future

An evening of possibilities, not only for you, but for the agencies that joined together for the Clutch the Future event and ultimately, the lives that they impact. The 3rd annual Clutch the Future will be Saturday, April 29th, 2017 at the McPherson Museum, 1111 E. Kansas. A super fun fundraiser, benefiting MCDS-Multi Community Diversified Services and Circles of McPherson County. It’s not too late to get tickets ($30 each or $55 per couple) to attend and enjoy an evening full of possibilities. Participate in the wine pull for a “mystery” bottle of wine, try your luck at Plinko for a chance to win a tailgating package, purchase tickets for the mystery box raffle and of course join in the whiskey tasting. All of this, while attendees dine on food catered by Martinelli’s, place their bids on 86+ silent auction items and then have fun outbidding others during the live auction. Great items this year include: get away packages, kids entertainment gift set, jewelry, wines, lots of purses, oil paintings, Ruger 10/22 Rifle package, pampering gift baskets and spa packages, photo sessions and a KC Chiefs package. There are also some very unique auction items up for bid including: “be a farmer for a day”, tour and lunch with the McPherson Fire Department, tailgate party package and even a “Haunted House Party! There will also be a live auction “Dream Bedroom Remodel” including a Mattress set and bed frame from Mattress Haven, 2 hr. interior design consult, comforter set and 2 cans of paint. What more could you want? View a sneak peak of other auction items and notice all the generous sponsors and donors here. Special thanks to Mattress Haven, Clutch the Future sponsor and Chamber Connections host location. Check out their amazing selection of mattresses, pillows, bed frames and sets at 310 N. Main and be watching for the grand opening of The Appliance Depot at 400 N. Maple, coming soon.

Michael Yates (Mattress Haven) eloquently expressed his commitment to helping Clutch the Future, saying that MCDS and Circles do a “tremendous amount of good here”. So true! According to CEO and President Doug Wisby, MCDS has been in the McPherson community for over 40 years, offering support services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They provide residential services, day services, vocational training, life enrichment programs and much more. Find out about MCDS, 2107 Industrial Drive at www.mcds-ks.org or call 620-241-6693. Circles of McPherson County has been very successful locally and a model for other communities as well. Since starting the program in 2010, Circles of McPherson County has celebrated 31 adults and 38 children who have made it out of poverty! Ending poverty one family at a time takes the hard work and dedication of the circle leaders as well as the commitment and support of the community. Jay Warner, Circles Board VP, explained the framework that makes Circles successful from intentional friends and caring support, financial resources such as reliable transportation and circles meals, to the educational aspect of accountability and “teach a man to fish and he lives a lifetime”. Learn more about Circles of McPherson County at www.circlesmcpherson.org or contact Alana Murphy, Director at 620-241-9011.  Get your Clutch the Future tickets today to help these two amazing organizations that are making a difference in our community.
