2017 Rural Appreciation Sponsor and Volunteer Opportunities
We invite you to join in the official McPherson County 4-H Fair Kick-off on Friday, July 21st, at the McPherson County 4-H Grounds, 600 W. Woodside. The McPherson Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee will be hosting an old fashion picnic with hamburgers right off the grill, baked beans, chips, tea and watermelon from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The picnic is sponsored and served by members of the McPherson Chamber of Commerce.
We are proud to partner with the McPherson County Extension & 4-H to launch the fair weekend filled with valuable 4-H programs and events. Friday evening will include a live food auction under the tent beginning at 6:00 p.m., then at 7:00 p.m. in the Livestock Arena is the biggest livestock show of the fair – the Meat Goat Show. There will also be many exhibits throughout the grounds for visitors to view.
The Rural Appreciation Meal is a tradition of the McPherson Chamber of Commerce that brings the business and rural community together to celebrate the completion of harvest and to recognize the contribution the rural farming community adds to our local economy. Volunteering provides Chamber members a great opportunity to circulate among the 400-500 attendees consisting of ag producers and 4-H families. We need servers, grillers, ticket takers, etc and sponsors. We encourage volunteers to wear company shirts and/or name tags. Just call the Chamber office, 241-3303 and let us know that you would like to help.
If you wish to sponsor, please mail or drop off your contribution to the Chamber office at 306 N. Main, P.O. Box 616, McPherson, KS 67460 or contact us by Friday, July 14 so that you will be recognized as a sponsor. We will provide tickets to all sponsors to distribute to your agriculture customers. No contribution is too small. Thank you for your support of the programs and activities of the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, together we are McPherson!
