Member Spotlight- Pine Village
Celebrating their 60th year, Pine Village is a continues care retirement community that enriches the lives of many. As a “person centered care center” they strive to include each individuals’ choices and cater activities and amenities to bring them joy. Residents should expect to live their “golden years” surrounded by a beautiful environment of quality living facilities, pristine landscapes, and amenities and activities to please all interests. Oh my, I was hooked with “stocked fishing pond” but they also have gardening opportunities, chickens, a pool, exercise room, beauty shop, not to mention the unique activities, fun outings and a future vision to add a putting green too.
Shelby Shaw, CEO and Director of Pine Village shared the history of Pine Village that began in 1958 as Memorial Home and changed its name to Pine Village in 2011. More than 200 residents are part of the community at Pine Village which offers lifestyle choices of independent living homes and apartments, assisted living suites, health care, skilled care and even a memory care neighborhood. Contact Julie Brochtrup, Director of Marketing at 620-345-2901 for more details or to set up a tour of Pine Village, 86 22nd Ave in Moundridge.
With the purchase of the neighboring 40 acres, Pine Village has doubled the size of their campus recently and their vision for the future includes an expanded walking path, retail space, restaurant, wellness center, amphitheater and putting green. Since they have already outgrown their existing kitchen and dining space, Pine Village is also focusing on an Expanding Our Table Campaign. Combining several funding sources and tax-free donations, they hope to raise $1 million dollars for a total kitchen renovation and dining room expansion. Mark your calendar for the upcoming Benefit Day Dinner & Auction on Thursday, October 25th and get a sneak peek at some of the items up for auction and opportunities to bid on-line at www.pinevillageks.org.
