Member Spotlight – Krehbiels Specialty Meats
Chamber members crowded the aisles at Krehbiels Specialty Meats for November 9th’s Chamber Connection, perusing staples like poultry and hot dogs as well as exotic meats like alligator and ground ostrich.
Krehbiels Specialty Meats, located at 1636 Mohawk Road, is a family-owned business which started out as a small country store on Homer Krehbiel’s family farm in 1978. At that time, they offered a few items like raw milk, frozen ground beef, cheese, and raw honey. Through the years the business evolved and expanded and Krehbiels developed their own recipes and products. Now Krehbiels Specialty Meats includes a full-service retail outlet as well as a processing plant, which is USDA inspected, and provides custom processing, co-packing, and private labeling.
Krehbiels carries choice, prime, and Wagyu beef. Danny Williamson recommended that everyone try Wagyu steak at least once, even if they can’t afford it all the time. “You can cut it with a fork,” he said. “You don’t even need a knife.”
They also carry as many Kansas-made products as possible. The store carries products like rubs and seasonings, hot sauce and sauerkraut, snacks and fudge. There are also coolers packed with cheeses and pies. Basically, there’s no shortage of tasty things to shop for at Krehbiels!
If you plan on ordering for your holiday meal or gifts from Krehbiel’s, get those orders in early to make sure they can accommodate you. Their store hours for in-person shopping are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. With the holidays coming up and big family meals being planned, Krehbiels Specialty Meats is a great place to get started!
