Member Spotlight – JP Construction
JP Construction hosted a packed Chamber Connection at the Chamber office June 13th to announce the transition of ownership from its founder Jerry Potter to his son Aaron.
Jerry started JP Construction in 1994, and over the years offered services like remodeling, building, and roofing before finding his niche in concrete flatwork. Concrete flatwork is any concrete surface that is poured on a horizontal plane such as parking lots, driveways, warehouse floors, sidewalks, patios, etc. JP Construction also does demolition and excavation work.
Aaron worked in the company growing up and has been learning the trade for over 20 years. Although ownership passed to Aaron a few months ago, Jerry remains involved in JP Construction, as does Aaron’s grandfather Dan, who was the batch man at McPherson Concrete for 32 years before semi-retiring and coming to JP Construction over 20 years ago.
“Between the three of us, there’s roughly a hundred years of working experience in the concrete industry,” said Aaron. “I’m very grateful to come from that sort of lineage.”
The company runs a crew of 3 full-time team members with about 8-12 others they can call on when they pour concrete. As a family business, Aaron’s sister, Courtney, and mother, Kim, manage the office and books.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity to run JP, and I plan to continue to serve McPherson and the surrounding areas with the company for many years to come,” Aaron said. “We thank God for His continued grace for providing for the company and for McPherson’s support for the last 30 years.”
JP Construction will continue to provide the quality work the company is known for so give Aaron a call at 620-241-4577 or on his cell at 620-245-8114. You can also reach him by email and follow the company on Facebook. Check out photos from the June 13th Chamber Connection.
