Going to College? Majoring in Agriculture?
Since 2000, the McPherson Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee has raised funds for the Agriculture Future of America Scholarship from proceeds of the When Pigs Fly BBQ Contest & Fly In. We are very proud to announce that we have invested $47,500 in 19 McPherson County students who are pursuing an agriculture related field of study by awarding them scholarships. As you are very aware of the importance of agriculture to our area, we want to continue the support of education in that sector.
The McPherson Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee is a community partner of Agriculture Future of America and dedicated to helping today’s youth become tomorrow’s leaders. In addition to the $2,500 scholarship that we award locally, AFA matches those funds. This partnership enables the McPherson Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee to provide an Agriculture Future of America Scholarship to a McPherson County graduating senior pursuing a 4-year degree in agriculture, as well as covering the registration fee for the AFA Leaders Conference. Through this unique scholarship program offered by Agriculture Future of America and its partners, students pursuing careers in agriculture gain access to exciting leader training opportunities and receive help paying for their college education.
