Member Spotlight – Elysium Studios

Elysium Studios’ spacious yoga studio at 112 S. Main Street filled with Chamber Connection attendees October 10th as owner Grace Henderson told the crowd about Elysium’s yoga and massage therapy services.

“Our goal is to just help people live more comfortably in their bodies,” she said.

Massage

“You can schedule a half-hour, a 60-minute session, or 90-minute session with us, and we will do whatever we need to do to meet the goals of our clients,” Grace said. “We don’t separate things like deep tissue, reflexology, those kinds of things. If we have the tools in our tool belt, we’re going to use them on our clients if they need them.”

This means they don’t upcharge for things like cupping or hot stones, and your Elysium massage therapist will never withhold a technique you need because you didn’t book a more expensive session. All massages are charged simply based on the length of the session.

“If we see you about once a month, which is what we recommend for maintenance massage, what happens the other 30 days matters, too,” said Grace. “That’s why we decided to incorporate yoga.”

Yoga

In addition to stretching and exercise for the body, Elysium incorporates into its classes lessons on yoga philosophies, breathing techniques, Sanskrit, and more.

“We just try to bring more into our classes to really make it a whole picture of what yoga is,” Grace said.

Each class is developed with every level of student in mind and can be adapted for beginners to advanced yogis. Gentle Yoga Flow, held at 8:45 Saturday mornings is a particularly gentle introduction for beginners. See Elysium’s yoga class schedule here.
