Member Spotlight – Grain Craft
Tortillas are the fastest growing flour market in the U.S., Grain Craft plant manager Clint Church told Chamber Connection attendees October 5. McPherson’s plant produces 720,000 pounds of flour PER DAY, which ship from Maine to Alaska and will be found in grocery stores all across the U.S.
As the largest independent flour miller in the country, Grain Craft produces bulk and bagged flours for the baking, food service, tortilla, and pizza industries. They have twelve milling locations including the one in McPherson, which employs 42 people. The McPherson plant is the only one in the Grain Craft family that does retail packaging.
While most small mills are being replaced by much larger operations, McPherson’s Grain Craft plant remains successful because of its easy access to quality wheat and a central location for transportation.
