Member Spotlight Mac-Town CrossFit
“You tell me you’re not better when we’re done.” A powerful statement by CrossFit Founder Greg Glassman and essentially the goal of CrossFit, to become “better”; stronger, leaner and healthier. Technically, CrossFit means a constantly varied high intensity workout that combines weightlifting, gymnastics (range of motion exercises) and cardio. But if you have ever talked to a member of Mac-Town CrossFit, you know it is so much more than physical accomplishments and reaching healthier goals, it’s the enjoyment of comradery, where members become a family! A wonderful testament to the quality program and encouraging environment created by owners Chad and Sarah Muehler.
Chad Muehler told the Chamber Connections crowd that he moved to McPherson to coach college football, then worked at the YMCA and had several people asking about CrossFit so he decided to research it. Chad tried out CrossFit for the first time and said it was a “humbling experience,” but he was hooked. Chad and Sarah are no strangers to fitness, and as they both loved CrossFit, Sarah suggested they open a CrossFit gym to share that passion for fitness with others. Six years ago, they opened CrossFit Pothos with 19 members, and now have around 100 members and multiple coaches at their new location, 715 W. Woodside and new name, Mac-Town CrossFit.
Sarah thanked the McPherson Chamber, funding through the E-Community program and the overall support of the community. She also gave credit to the members, friends, and family that all shared their time and talents to help them remodel the new building to match the vision that she and Chad had for Mac-Town CrossFit.
