Member Spotlight – McPherson Metals, LLC
Don’t throw all that away! Recycle your metals at McPherson Metals, 1060 W. Woodside Street in McPherson. Although McPherson Metals does a considerable amount of business with CHS, Femco, Welco, Maplan and other local businesses, they are also open to the public. Gary Graber, owner of McPherson Metals was a gracious host for the Chamber Connections, providing interesting distinctions between ferrous and non-ferrous metals, some whopping fish story and a tour of their very clean and organized shop and scrap yard. After 5 years in business, McPherson Metals has gone from 1 truck and 1 bin to 3 trucks and 60 bins. Gary said he is “proud to be a part of McPherson” and believes “McPherson is one of the very best communities, if not the best community (he has) done business in.”
McPherson Metals is a full scale recycle business, so if you are cleaning out the family farm or it’s long overdue to get rid of that backyard scrap, car parts, brass fittings or aluminum cans, McPherson Metals is the place to take it. Offering competitive prices and a convenient, state certified scale to weigh truck loads. Better yet, call McPherson Metals at 316-706-0279 to have them deliver a bin so that you can fill it up. All materials are then sorted and processed at McPherson Metals to be distributed to the correct facility. It was impressive to see the huge piles of scrap metals that will be recycled and the pride that McPherson Metals takes in keeping their property well maintained. Gary Graber conveyed the importance having a great team of leaders (kudos Thomas and Rick!), staying up on safety requirements and implementing security practices.
