Member Spotlight- McPherson Pipeliners
The sound of summer in two words…play ball! It’s going to be a grand-slam of a summer for the McPherson Pipeliners baseball team. After nine months of dedicated preparation and amazing community support, the McPherson Pipeliners started off their season on May 31st with a win! McPherson Chamber President, Brad Mears threw the ceremonial first pitch with the bleachers full of excited fans.
Earlier in the day, the McPherson Pipeliners hosted the Chamber Connections and as Chamber Executive Director, Jennifer Burch said “apparently McPherson loves baseball.” There is definitely a “ball of energy behind these two” (referring to Owner/GM Caleb Hartman and Coach Chad Pinson) to put together this program and get it up and running. Chad Pinson greatly appreciates the warm McPherson welcome and said it makes the players feel right at home. It is fantastic to have so much support from the town and thanks to all the sponsors, all home games are free! Concessions will be available from local non-profit groups during all home games. Get the McPherson Pipeliners schedule here and plan to cheer them on at the Light Capitol Baseball Diamond, 551 S. Fisher Street.
Hartman and Pinson are excited about the season and “hope to bring a championship home.” They have 32 very talented athletes from all over the nation and 21 home games on their schedule. Be sure to follow the McPherson Pipeliners on Facebook to keep up with all the special events like autograph night, camo night and more. If you have youngsters who love baseball, bring them out to the ball field to practice with their favorite Pipeliner, it will be the highlight of their summer! The Little Liners is a free event on June 9, 16, 23 and July 7 & 14 for ages 7-12. You’ve probably heard the saying “Good players inspire themselves. Great players inspire others,” so connect with this talented team of mentors at the Little Liner event and don’t miss the action on game nights too.
