Member Spotlight – ReUse It Center
If you are a DIY sort of person, then the ReUse It Center is the place you need to go. They have EVERYTHING for the Do It Yourselfer!!! The ReUse It Center, located at 120 S. Hwy. 81 Bypass, started in 2011 on West Kansas Avenue as a faith venture by the First Mennonite Church. It outgrew that location by 2015. The original intent was to provide a place for companies and individuals to bring leftover construction materials for others to use instead of dumping the leftover into the landfill. What started as just a resource for reusing building materials has blossomed into furniture for home or office, home or seasonal décor, tools, appliances, and SO MUCH MORE!
The ReUse It Center’s hours are: Tuesdays from 1 p.m-3 p.m., Thursdays from 4 p.m.-6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. They are always looking for volunteers to help throughout the center by stocking shelves, repairing items, assisting in the receiving area, or helping out in the cashier area. The ReUse It Center welcomes donations of construction materials of all kinds, as well as tools, items for landscaping, appliances in working condition, and wood furniture. Visit their website or their Facebook page for more information or give them a call at 620-245-0122. Check out these photos from Chambers Connections hosted by the ReUse It Center and you’ll probably see something that they have that you can’t live without!
