Member Spotlight – United Way of McPherson County
Chamber members got a sneak peek at the United Way of McPherson County’s 2023 Campaign at the August 31st Chamber Connection at the Chamber office. The campaign officially launched September 1st with an event at Hopp’s Corner. The forty people gathered to hear United Way executive director Anthony Roy, campaign chair Cindy Goldsmith, and board president Kena Dacus talk about the important work United Way does in the community.
“We focus on raising funds so we can distribute them,” said Dacus, “so our partner agencies can spend more time actually giving services and doing what they do and less time trying to figure out how to get funds.”
This year’s campaign goal increased by $50,000 to a total of $325,000 to better serve their partner agencies including:
- Brush Up Mac
- CASA
- CPRF
- Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
- Heart to Heart Child Advocacy Center
- Grace Med
- Lindsborg and Marquette Summer Lunch Program
- McPherson County Council on Aging
- McPherson Crime Stoppers
- McPherson Family YMCA
- McPherson Housing Coalition, Inc.
- Meals on Wheels of McPherson County
- Safe Hope
- Special Olympics McPherson
- Steps to End Poverty of McPherson County (STEPMC)
“That’s the heart of what we do,” said Goldsmith. “What we do is for our agencies.”
