Member Spotlight – Walters Optometry
Dr. Phil Walters and his staff welcomed a crowd to their optometry office at 915 N. Main as they hosted the February 22nd Chamber Connection.
Walters started seeing patients at the office in 2010 and bought the practice in 2011. Since then, the business has only grown.
“I feel really fortunate to be in a community like McPherson that supports small business,” said Walters. “I feel really fortunate to be able to do what I do, to provide care to people. Like most people, I just want to be helpful, you know? To have people come and see me here and help them with their problems.”
Walters’ family-focused practice provides comprehensive eye exams to patients of all ages and uses methodologies and technologies to ensure the best possible care. In addition to prescribing glasses and contact lenses, Walters manages many eye conditions including red eyes, dry eyes, eye allergies and infections, diabetic eye disease, and many others.
Technology plays a large role in this optometry business, whether it be in the lens products they use or in diagnosing ocular pathology like macular degeneration, cataracts, or glaucoma. These problems are detectable earlier and therefore more treatable thanks to advancements in technology.
